Credit unions in Kansas

Credit union: In the state of Kansas, there are 80 credit unions. Those credit unions operate more than 200 branches between them for their members. These cooperatives have more than one million members. The population of the state of Kansas is not quite three million, which means close to a third of all residents enjoy the benefits of banking with a credit union. The largest credit union in the state is CommunityAmerica Credit Union. This cooperative has over 242,000 members. It has been in operation since 1940. 

Like most states, Kansas has cooperatives that are open for membership to those who are part of specific professions, such as teachers or farmers. Others are religious in nature and tied to a particular parish. However, there are several cooperatives that are community-based and open to anyone who lives/works/worships in a particular community. These credit unions offer services in the underserved and rural parts of Kansas.

Car insurance: Car insurance in the state of Kansas is on par with the national average. There may be a slight uptick in urban areas. But just because premiums in Kansas are already so affordable, that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t continue to see if you can find a better rate.
